Milk Thistle to Support Liver Function
Milk Thistle, also known as Silymarin (Silybum marianum), is a well-documented traditional herbal medicine that helps support healthy liver function. Studies evaluating milk thistle in the treatment of alcoholic
liver disease have found significant improvements in liver function
with use of this herb. The liver is primarily responsible for ridding the body of alcohol and other toxins. It is important to detoxification during early stages of the My Way Out nutritional program.
Milk thistle contains a number of compounds--namely flavonoids--including silymarin, silybin, isosilybin and silibinin. Silymarin is the key constituent that offers protection against substances that are harmful to the liver.
Our special blend of Milk Thistle includes dandelion root, which aids in the production and flow of bile. This improves the elimination of wastes and assists with digestion. Another key ingredient is artichoke extract, which has been shown in studies to protect against free radical damage in the liver.
